While waiting for my replacement 8890, I want to buy something to deal with the heat. This Antec cooler looks like it will do the job, but want to make an informed choice.

Anyone use this thing??

Yes many people are using this that's why there are at least TWO threads about it that were created within the last week. Use the search engine.

Hey Kalaban - welcome to the friendly world of talknotebooks (seriously it is friendly , some people are just kinda short on patience) I use the antec cooler - its is perhaps a little loud but does a very good job.

As Element said the search button is your friend there are quite a few posts about laptop coolers floating around and they go into great detail about the different models.

Actually I tried the search button before posting and it was collapsing before I could finish typing. Not sure if it's my pc or the website.

Having been on boards before, I'm familiar with people being sarcastic and short. They DON't have to post anything, but if it makes them feel better to post then so be it.

Thanks for the nice reply!

don't take it personal...we gotta have fun with you n00bs eheh

Anyways, if you can get the search text entry box to stay open long enough (haven't had any problem on my side yet), type in "antec" and it'll come up with a long list of topics on it. Ignore the first one though because it's this thread lol

if you want to, you can open the cooler up and reverse the fans to blow air up into the sager! that would help a lot more, i saw it on another forum

I would not be sure about blowing air up into the fans - my worry would be that forcign air over the fans would disrupt the way they spin

I use the passive Nexus TDD-3000 cooler. I find it great. Still when you're pumping away at COD, it still gets a little warm. It's amazing how different surfaces affect the overall heat of the machine. The desks at college really hot things up while my desk here at home keeps it cool enough. The combination of my alluminium desk and the cooler is a very satisfactory result..

IO...a Rant

ION, how are the temperatures? does Nexus make them drop a lot? is it worth the money?
