OK, While everyone is on this wireless topic, heres my problem. I hope someone can help me, ive had my laptop for a few months now, and finally got a wireless router, and now I cant do a thing with it.
First of all i got a netgear router, wireless g, model wgr614v2
THe wireless card i have is internal its from national semiconductor it says, under system properties. However, It says in the sager manual that i need to install the drivers from a disk, and it never let me do that, so that may be the problem right there. it only allows me to even access the drivers from win2k (im running xp pro) the xp drivers are grayed out, and i cant click on them. THey are on a floppy disk, and the book says it should be on a cd too, so I dont know whats going on there.
In system, there is also a ! next to other devices--network controller is that the problem? and how the hell do i fix that, cause ive tried and tried to find drivers for it. its in pci bus 3, device 4, function 0
There is no way for me to really setup the wiress connection though, because there is no wireless connection available in windows either. Ive seen other peoples wireless and it just finds them and connects...mine doesnt do anything when i turn on the card.
What im asking is if someone could just do a step by step of what i need to do, since i have no idea what im doing with this wireless thing. Im pretty decent with computers so Ill be able to figure it out, but im really lost on this one. I dont know if i need to get some different driver from sager, or if its a hardware issue, or just some checkbox im missing, so please let me know.
