Area 51m 7700 Download Area - Page 9

Its on Aw's FTP site. I loaded Sager's and didnt notice any difference. Not worth the bother to load.

after loading .03 I noticed my gpu fan sometimes shuts off or never came on in the first place, it heats up and locks up. I don't have Gethermal install right now so I know it's not that. I was kind of hoping it would have a fix for that. I am think of reloading the .01 bios that was on there when I first got it.

I've found something that might be interesting, the Keyboard Bios Controller download uses a Flasher from Hitachi, and it flashes an "H8" thing, and i think this H8 is of the wierd file that Get Thermal Includes, and when i flashed that, the trip point i had set on get thermal changed, so i think there is a Link there, what do you guys think?

Edit: I also see that the ver of the new Flashed Bios shows on the titlebar of Get Thermal

I don't think it has any connection. I uninstalled ati drivers and installed omega drivers and the getthermal trip points on my machine reverted to default settings. It's a temperamental piece of software - I mean getthermal.

Getthermal shows the flash bios regardless of version - I have .03 and it shows in the title bar. It's just reading info off the motherboard.

I was looking at the bios info for 1.00.03 and it says that the update was to correct a problem with ATI cards. Those of you that had fan shutdown problems after updating, how many had Nvidia and how many had ATI? Perhaps the update is creating problems for nvidia users. I updated and have an ATI cards and I haven't had any gpu fan problems.

Just a thought.

I downloaded the newest bios, but I won't flash it until I see a readme listing the changes. Anbody seen one?

I believe 1.00.03 had a problem with the keyboard controller as well (maybe starting from 1.00.02, I forgot).
As soon as I updated the BIOS to 1.00.03, I had to hit the keyboard multiple times with both of my palms in order to activate the keyboard when I start/restart the machine and it prompted me to enter the startup password. Now it's just fine with 1.00.04.

I flashed the 1.00.04 BIOS but getthermal's still showing 1.00.02. Dunno y...

I think getthermal reads the KBC version....I have a slight suspicion that that Keyboard Controller has to do something with the fans and temps.....ill check out some stuff and report back later

Report:
The File to be flashed is named: H8D900T.02
The Flasher app is named: H8Flash
The app, when run without parameters: Flash Memory Downloader for Hitachi H8S/F Clevo Computer Company

This must be propietary of Clevo, just like Get Thermal (supposedly right) and both apps reference something about this H8..
Does Somebody know anything about what H8S/F is?

I examined the xtreme g drivers and a few other modded drivers.

I finnaly deceided to don't work on the same way of those modded drivers.

Those drivers prefer fast perf with poor image quality, trust me, i saw some settings that should be used for pentium 3 and geforce 2

Since we have fast computers, i'll completly re-work on my drivers for the best image quality possible for the laptop, and my settings won't be use for scoring on 3D mark but will use for games and amazing image quality.

If u prefer score, so i'll let u use xtreme g or other driver, but if u're like me, prefer image quality, u'll use my modded driver.

I'll post them today or later in the next week.

OK. All I'm really concerned about is choppy video in games by tweaking the driver up to quality settings. But I'll be a player and help out with the testing of those, on BFV, BF1942 and Far Cry.

Man, I just ran into a problem after running "Chicony Keyboard R8.16 : 06 MAY 2005". Now my hotkey program doesnt work (those three buttons on the top that control web browser, email, and an additional application). Can someone please help me? I tried going to www.alienware.com to get maybe a more updated driver but I couldn't log in, I don't know how, do you need some type of special password that you must purchase or something? I am so lost, someone help me please!

just thought id share, i decided i couldnt be bothered to upgrade the bios through burning a cd, so i used the sager flash utility and their bios. If u do this make sure u reset the hardrive configuration from raid to ata in the new bios or it wont find ur operating system.
