Really really sorry! But another thought occured to me! You said you flashed your BIOS. There is a slim chance your BIOS disabled the internal sound card. Check your BIOS settings and see if the onboard sound is still enabled!

Yes.

To get there, open Control Panel, then open System. Click the hardware tab, then click the device manager button. Do you see any hardware with exclamation marks beside it? Or is your Audio hardware even listed?
haha. thanks. But I do know my way around OS's pretty well. hehe. No problem though. post away, only the weenies that complain about newbs or noobs or however the comp. geeks spell it care about multiple posts.

No it didn't because all the other drivers work fine.

What benefits do that 1.22 and 1.23 drivers offer over the 1.20 drivers anyway?
the readme for the driver has the revision history on it, check out realtek's site.

edit: that readme is weird, it just says "Customization" on some of the entries
post #327 of 481
I'm too lazy.

I think I got it installed. I had to not uninstall the 1.20 driver and install the 1.23 over it. Somebody please verify for me if the Driver Version showing in their Realtek High Definition Audio Properties -> Driver tab is 5.10.0.5136 date 7/13/2005 please.
yeah! thats the one...
thanks. haha. now I'll go read the .pdf on RealTek's site and see what the all the huh-bub's about.

Anyone else having issues running BF2 and Painkiller with the 77.76 drivers?
BF2 throws a Direct3d error at me, and Painkiller doesn't seem to recognise my 6800 (proper resolutions aren't available) 80.40 works fine, as does 77.72. And yes, I have the modded inf. I uninstalled my old drivers and ran nvclean before I put on 77.76
post #331 of 481
I noticed it so I just run 77.72 now.

I have this constant beeping sound in BF2, sounds like a digital beeping like transmitting data or something. I thought it was part of the game and figured it was the radar but now I think I'm getting some noise or interference from somewhere. Anybody else have this?

Calling J.Clausse! There's a new 77.77 driver available here:
http://download.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/7777.exe
Hopefully it fixes my Painkiller/BF2 issues!

I'm having trouble running the 3dmark05 with the 77.77 drivers, when it loads the second game test, the one with the green fairy, it just goes black, and i have to close the 3dmark with the task manager

Hmm, did u uninstall the driver first ?

Can u reboot and retry and tell me if u still experienced the same probs ?

NB : For the XX times, i tell it once more
My driver isn't for use with 3dmark, u won't score with this driver, it's optimised for very high quality images at the cost of performance.

Since we have a good machine, we can exploit it, else, if u wanna get poor image and good perf, buy a p4 and put a geforce2 on it, ull get same score.
well, now its running, i guess i forgot to uninstall the last drivers, thanks!!
i was just curious of how i scored with 3dmark hehe. btw, do you know of any drivers that are balanced between performance and quality?? because the ones at alienware are not compatible fully with half life 2, and some other games, and i would love to play half life 2 at high resolutions

His problem wasn't with the score, it was just getting the program to run.

My driver is perfect for playing all games with amazing image quality and good perf, i played splinter cell 3, moh pacific, swat 4... without any perf probs.
Only doom3 needs more power, so u'll ned to turn off fsaa and anisotropic via control pannel before playing, else, the fps will drop and will be unplayable.
