Hi Guys,
Just canrt wait for MJ-12 m7700a

But, I need some advice on MJ-12 m7700a notebook.
Basically i am planning to buy a laptop keeping mobility in mind and i need to use softwares like XSI, Maya just for animations and basic rendering. Not into highend stuff. And ofcourse playing loads of games on it.

I was just wondering if I get my alienware config. with

AMD Opteron 152 2.6 GHz 64-Bit
512MB Dual Channel DDR SO-DIMM at 400MHz - 2 x 256MB
256MB NVidia® Quadro™ FX Go 1400

Will this config be enough for using 3d softwares. Also later could i upgrade my same lappy to

AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 4800+ with HyperTransport and Dual Core Technology
2GB Dual Channel DDR SO-DIMM at 400MHz - 2 x 1024MB

*** MY DREAM CONFIG ON ALIENWARE LAPTOP****

Is it advisable to upgrade a lappy later. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Hey,
I don't know why you would go for amd? Got approx the same machine, for 3D cad design and intensive model rendering. I'm very happy with the nvidea card, even if it's a mobility one it sure can keep up with the normal workstation graphical cards. Just beware of the sticky fan problem which makes it necessary to use getthermal to turn on the sticking fan .. unfortunally
