I just purchased and received an Alienware 51-M 7700 off of ebay and I did not get any software, restore discs or my hive login info from the seller. I want to update to the latest Motherboard and Keyboard bios, could someone please do me a huge favor and upload the latest Motherboard and Keyboard bios to megaupload or rapidshare for me please? Thanks in advance to whoever can help me out.

Thanks for all the help guys. After reseating the wireless card and checking on pcidatabase.com that I had the right drivers, I finally got my wireless working. It will only use older drivers though and doesn't taker to the Atheros ones.

Now I'm left with fixing my ethernet and audio. Can anyone explain this to me: I've reinstalled my drivers for my ethernet card yet still cannot get a ping back from my router. Before all of this I was able to ftp to my xbox and now I can't even recieve a packet. I've done the following

* Turned on DCHP and enabled TCP/IP automatic
* Flushed my DNS
* Using Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family Gigabit Ethernet NIC

Any ideas?

still out there?

I don't know if anyone is still updating this thread, however, I have just installed Windows 7 on my Alienware d900t 7700m and it went on okay after I added the raid drivers. I having a bee-itch of a time getting the sound card to work though. I just updated to the RTM of win7 hoping that they'd have the drivers included, however, they don't. Any help? All I see in device manager is a bunch of unknown devices, like 30 of them... Thanks, atstriker2000

if I remember correctly the d900t sound chipset does not has Vista drivers/support or compatibility for that matter.... I think your better off getting a USB or PCMCIA sound card

I ran across this entry in another area of notebookforums. http://www.notebookforums.com/post2632482.html It worked flawlessly for me.

Notebook Hardware Control didn't work very well for me, it was buggy in frequently reporting SMART errors that don't exist and doesn't monitor any temperatures very well beyond the CPU (like the GPU and memory).

I just found a working mirror for getthermal which in my opinion is the best program you'll find for a 7700: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/top...ermal-utility/

All the links I could find on this site were long dead, so I'm glad to find it again because I missed having it. This will actually monitor all the sensors and allow you to adjust fan speed and set trip points.
