Ati Catalyst 3.10

Thanks for good news!

Your link points to the very new ATI CATALYST 3.10 package. I downloaded it and am about to install it on my Sager.

Some facts I noticed:

Display Driver WXP = 6.14.10.6404
Control Panel = 6.14.10.5072
TV Capture WDM = 6.14.10.6227

I installed them on my P2.8ghz 64mb radeon 9000 4060. I don't have COD on my computer right now. But I dont' think there would be a difference, I had absolutely no problems with COD. I think deus ex:Invisible war ran a little better, still horrible though.

I was just over at the IGN boards and someone there posted what was fixed and one of them says

"Playing the game Call of Duty no longer results in the operating system failing to respond"

here's the link, you should be able to view the thread without being an insider. http://boards.ign.com/PC_General_Boa...27/49948602/?1

Think I am going to wait for the new omegas based on these drivers. I like the built in overclocking of the omegas

COD has never played better with these 3.10- very smooth I was using Sager 7.95 with no lock-ups but these are better drivers for my 8890- so far great!
If you look at the driver version number, you'll see these are the "7.95 COD Hotfix" drivers. Not a whole new driver set.

these are the issues that it fixes. It is not just a hot fix for COD.

When I try to run the new 1.10 cat on my 8890 I get the following error message:
Setup was unable to find components that can be installed on your current hardware or software configuration.

It installed fine on my desktop. Any help out there, please.

*BONK BONK BONK BONK* - for the last time I hope - you have to unzip the file and manually point to the drivers to have them install - its generally a good idea to remove the old ones first

Guys.

ATI does NOT develop new drivers for MOBILITY cards. So the CAT sets dont SUPPORT your card immediately. That's why you get the .inf error aiight?

Now to fix this you have to introduce the ATI mobility card lines into the inf file.

Download this (worked with all previous cats): www.driverheaven.net/patje (bottom) and extract the files from the ATI executables. Than run Mobile mod to add lines to your inf.

Voila! Also, you can install manually.

Always uninstall your old drivers first. I use drivercleaner to get rid of all entries etc.

Ciao,

Patje's method is probably a lot easier.

The hardway:

First Post, anyway I had problems installing Ati's lame drivers "Try switching to Standard VGA" bla bla bla.
I used Omega drivers just for the small comfort of reading "Mobility" in the title.

To install go to
display apapter properties->update Driver->Ill pick source->have disk->find the *.inf file ati unpacked into the C:\ati\whatever folder by default and open and you'll get a list of all the vid cards.

Pick yours (I don't think stock drivers have Mobility in the title, pick radeon 9600 or whatever I guess).

Sorry if this is old news, but I assume everyone has this problem and thought it was worth mentioning. Please e-mail me tikill@hotmail.com if you want better instructions.

look at all these other threads here. there are a lot of topics on this issue. You have to first try to install them, this will unpack the files into a folder called ATI. Than go into device manager and manualy select the files. just look through all the folders within the ATI folder and the only file that shows up is the one that you need.

Wrong, although it does help the newbies, apparently. -.-

Unecessary if installing manually.

For those of you who are overly excited about the ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600 PRO TURBO being the name of you adapter. You can edit the name of any driver in the inf. file. Right now I have "Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo" Omega 7.95s. I don't know what the legalities are, but there ya go. I'm not sure if the name helps the benchmarks. But I just got a score in 3DMark03 of 3600 even. 5680/3.2/1G ddr400/60G 7200rpm hdd/ Overclocked using Radclocker to 450 core and 279 ram. No artifacts or excessivly running fans so I'd say it's in the name. MAKE THAT 3651 @ 483.5 AND 279
PS no other mods. Texture setting on performance.
Sorry....Dieing to tell somebody!!
