looking for a laptop

My father's 6 years old toshiba laptop was dead the day after black friday now i am on a mission to look for an laptop. he dones't do much on his laptop. All he does is check his email and surf the web sometimes, my mom plays solitaire sometimes. so i dont think my father needs some kind of high end laptop. The budget is 550.

try those low end dells or gq laptop at frys

Acer's are very affordable and have many features for the money. So does compaq/hp.
