New Sager 8790 Model release pics are up - Page 3

Backside Pic's?

We've got pictures of the front, left, right, top and bottom. In addition, we've got pictures of the keyboard, screen and even the lighting of the power buttons. The only thing missing is a picture of the backside!

Is it possible to maybe get a picture of the back? It would be oh-so helpful! Or has the backside not been finalized yet?

Thanks for posting these, Adam!

Adam... Looking at the pics of the bottom, what is that panel on the top left?

if it is anything cool (or access to the GPU!!!), could you take some pics with it off?

Adam .... Another couple of questions....

Where is the third usb port? The pic of the right side shows a hole, but I would've thought it's for a lock.

Also, I see that it is still not a quick release battery. Is it at least a higher capacity one?

TIA

that case is still ugly

Hmm, the 4780 I just received yesterday is no longer the latest state of the art (at least as of January). However, I do have to say that I am very happy with the machine thus far - but it is obviously far superior than my Alienware Area 51 2.2 GHz desktop with a Radeon 8500.

Does anyone know if the Prescott will be interchangeable in the 4780? Does the SiS chipset support the Prescott's 533MHz bus speed?

Does anyone have any idea what the battery life is on this machine? I love the tv tuner and widescreen. I actually decided to buy a 5680 over the 8890 because of the dual battery setup gives my lappy decent running time. I

Adam, could you go into more detail on this enhanced camera that comes with the laptop?

What are your impressions of the display quality?

Adam, questions, The unit in the pictures, will that be what the production model will look like, or is that a speacial display model? I'm really liking the gold on black look. The paint job looks really nice.

The third USB port I believe is on the left side, directly to the left of the PCMCIA slot (on the top half of the left side, toward the front).

The three jacks in the front are, most likely, the 6.1 sound out. They serve double duty (like the 8890). So, you'll have line-in/2 speakers out, mic-in/2 speakers out, line-out/2 speakers out. Also, your sub will hang off one of those ports.

look at the specs for the 4060. It looks like the port on the front are exactly the same. One for a mic, one for headphones/speakers, and a third one i'm not sure about. all inbetween the IR port and the 4-pin firewire.

analog monitor

wow, didn't see an input for an analog (vga) monitor on the back....only going to be digital??
It'll probably be like the 8890, give you a DVI port with a converter to go to VGA. Not an issue...

You Still did not say If the WUXGA will be an option. If it is you can consider by computor bought and paid for. Just waiting for the screen upgrade and I will take the plunge.

The thing looks just like a 8890 and a 4780 put togeather! only thing i want is the cold cathode! but that will drain the battery even more!

i don't think the cold cathode would drain the battery that much, it would be worth it anyways.
