If you call the 800# you may still be able to get them to take $60 off 500.
With cancelling the $74 installation, brings it back to $375 total.
No tax in CT and they usually can be talked into free shipping.

how do you order a 7800gtx w/o an xps2 service tag?

You don't need a tag.
You can order on the website like you were ordering anything else.
It doesn't ask you for a tag.

When I called to order, they only asked my customer #.
I have a i9300 and service tags never came up.

You can do it online with a 45 off from the holiday game or 50 if you use DPA. Free shipping on E&A over 99 right now as well.

Also if you use DPA you get two more percent off so it still is as good even if you can't call in and get them to use the expired 60% off.

I'm located in Montreal, i'm looking to buy a 7800GTX but i'm having trouble locating one in Canada, i had this number but the guy works in woftware now...Anyone know any information that can help me out?

Hi djohn,

Ok, I just tried to purchase using my DPA, no $50 discount was applied.
Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks,
John

Atmer, you have to use a code from the dell holiday game. I have one that I think will work that I am pming you, if it doesn't work or for others you either have to find a code or play the game and win one.

PM coming at you Atmer.

ps, in order to get the 2% DPA discount you have to select credit card as your payment option INITIALLY and then above the cc form you will have a link to save the 2% which will then take you to the form to fill out for DPA.

I'm also located in Canada and can't locate it on Dell's site in Canada.
If you hear of anything let me know.
Thanks

For Canadian Residents
The order part # is 320-4529 the phone # is 1-866-440-3355
Total cost was $414.35 tax and shipping included. Yes that's in Canadian dollars
post #11 of 69
OK, I ordered the card via phone after getting bounced off line.
I used a coupon, thanks Doug, but they would not apply the addt'l 2% DPA
as you must use your DPA for the coupon to apply.
I attempted to have the install charge credited but the rep claimed she couldn't as this was a "package" with no separate price break out. She then gives me 2 order numbers, one for the part, the other for the install. Go figure. I'll try canceling the install after I receive the board.
What a PITA, 90 min. to order a simple GU, oh wait this is Dell.

Hi,
The $75 of installation cover the 9300? I know I can installed by myself, but I imagine that if dell installed the Graphic Card the warranty is not voided. With my purchase I get 3 years warranty with CompleteCare Accidental Damage Service for free. Then the warranty itself cost more than than the $75.

You woudldn't want dell to install it, I don't think a DEll Tech is going to come to your house change your bios to the XPS, and then install the card, then walk out your door, feeling all jolly inside He'd be like What in Tarnation!?!?!?! And everyone has a misconception about their 3-4 year warranty. First try to find out more about your warranty as to which of the 3 is it? I have the On-Site repair, which means a third part tech shows up to my door with parts. So if I computer let's say had a motherboard failure a dell tech would come over and install the mother board. And my local techies are cool. If I tell them I just want to trade parts at the door, and they can be on their way. They are happy with that because it's less work for them, so we just trade parts and they go on their marry way. I've already done this with a Keyboard, Touchpad, Harddrive, and Videocard. I'll do LCD in the spring.

They also have 20% off all power adapters, I picked up a GTX 7800 for 500, and an Xps2/M170 130watt adapter for 52, free shipping on both, and then dropped a 45 off 400 coupon, total came to like 562 since I chose next day shipping for 15 bucks extra. Wow I can't wait now. lol

Ahh good deals all around! Hopefully cancelling the $75 install will be as easy!

This is what I'm talking about! woot!~

I know a Canadian who would be willing to order the card for me, but they don't own an XPS2. Does anyone know any way of ordering the card without using the express number on the bottom of the laptop? Any tips or tricks would be HIGHLY appreciated!

Edit: I tried claiming I didn't have my express number with me, but they asked for my phone number, so that won't work.

But the $75 cover the 9300 or just the XPS gen 2???

The game is at http://www.dell.com/holiday

I think I only had the one coupon and I gave it away. My wife may have one and I will give it to someone but I would really like a 30% off dell laser printers if anyone has one of those.

I think the 75 install is just for the xps because I can't imagine Dell sanctioning us putting the 7800 in our 9300's or they would release a 9300 BIOS that would support the card.

edit: you might try L3GRC7TXS1ML1X but I think I may have given that one to someone already.
