Sager 8790 Motherboard

Hi,

Ive been asking myself this question ever since my laptops usb sockets stop working for no reason. Since the camera is also handled by the USB interface, it stop working as well. The headphone jack has been destroyed by to much use as well. I would like to know what motherboard it uses, brand, manufacturer and where can i buy it. The question comes because ive always been a pc user and i like servicing my machines myself. Sending my laptop from Puerto Rico to Cali doesnt sound like a good idea. Anyways i would appriciate anyone who can help me out . Thanks

The 8790 uses a Clevo motherboar (read as generally not available to the publis). There are tons of stuff attached to the motherboard and it's replacement is probably better left to an authorized service center. Also the M/B will be rather costly.....

The 8790 mobo is discontinued. Sager will refurbish yours for $440 + $80 labor.

WOW! 500 bucks??

Now all the headaches I've had with the rapair co. doesnt' seem so bad.

I'm sorry if you didn't go for the extended warranty.
