RMclock and Toshiba powersaver

Hi,

i'm just wondering how many toshiba users here have undervolted their laptops using Rmclock or CHC? (i'm using Rmclock 1.8)

I'm currently having problems with random freezing after undervolting using rmclock. I've tried to pump up the voltage a little, but it doesn't seem to help.

I'm beginning to suspect that the toshiba powersaver utility is conflicting with rmclock, and Mr. k6 and another person on the rmclock forum said that this may be the problem as well...

now my question is: are any of you using rmclock and toshiba powersaver at the same time? if so, are you encountering any problems? also, if you're not using the powersaver util, how do you find the battery life compared to when powersaver was on...

i'm just trying to make sure, and i thought that asking some expert toshiba users would make sense.

thanks.

there's so many of them!
Basically I do not remember that I modified something out of the default ones..

HLT - no, it is UNchecked...

for tosh powersaver- I use many regimes (normal, full power, persentation etc..), none of them produced any problems so far...
also I guess processor frequency is always set to automatic...

cheers

I also use RMClock to undervolt my processor while running Toshiba PowerSaver at the same time on my Toshiba M40. I've been doing this for the last 6 months or so and have never experienced any conflicts.

hmm.. strange... i guess i'm just unlucky then...

I tried again, and ran prime95 w/o toshiba powersaver for 24 hours no problems.
tried again with the exact same settings, and it froze within 12h (i woke up and it was frozen).

I don't know what i'm doing differently....

Thanks for all your help guys!

I undervolted my M3 last week. It seemed to be working ok with the powersaver, but the fan still ran a lot of the time so I tried uninstalling the power saver. I didn't really notice any difference in the performance of the notebook, and I don't get any random crashes.

Unfortunately, I appear to have somehow corrupted my install of the power saver and can't get it back, so be careful if you go down this path. See the thread I posted to the peer-to-peer support group:

Without wanting to hijack this thread, if anyone has any info on how to reinstall the power saver I'd be most grateful.

N.B.
according to my observations,
Tosh powersaver SOMETIMES breaks down
on its own, (depending on its version)

so that RMclock is not needed for this, in fact

But..
since I'ev installed the latest version of powersaver,
everything's OK..
