Hello everyone, a friend of mine recently purchased this barebones kit from tigerdirect
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...592091&CatId=0
I've put a few desktop PC's together before, and I'm usually very good about finding the solution to any problems they give me, but this time I'm just stumped.
Ok so here's the problem. When I first powered it on, it gave me the message There is no FastTrak device, no BIOS found" or something. So I disabled the Promise program in the BIOS. Then it displayed 2 RAID arrays that "were not found" So I hit tab to get into the RAID options, and the 2 arrays were shown, but nothing on them, so I couldn't do anything to them. So I went into the BIOS and changed it from RAID to IDE. So now I don't get any error messages prompting me to reboot, except it now asks if I want to start Windows normally, or enter Safe Mode, etc... So I've picked both normal and safe mode multiple times and it just reboots and does the same exact thing over and over again.
It is hooked up to a Maxtor 20gb from his old computer that already has WinXP installed. If I try hooking up the blank drive and the inserting the CD that came with the motherboard, or even the WinXP install disk, even when it asks me to reboot and insert a disc, it will not read them. So I'm wondering if anybody has any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
