XP folder view problem

Thread Starter
When I attach a file to an e-mail (using IE6, yahoo mail), I press "browse" and navigate to a folder, choose thumbnail view, and choose the file.

When I go to attach another file, I press "browse", the same folder is presented to me, but it is back in "list" view.

How do I get it to remember the same view (thumbnail, in this case) every time?

I already tried going to folder options in windows explorer, and checked "remember each folder's view settings".

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

well, there isn't a normal way to change that...

Basically, when you use explorer to open a folder, it will check against the registry for your default settings. When a dialogue box opens up, it only has the items listed at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...shellstate.asp
available. Unfortunately, there is no "Icon type" member in the struct.

but there is a third party app that can do that. you can find it here:
