Transcend Memory 1 giggers $70.00 - Page 4

Are we going to beat this horse into the ground or what? Kingston is fine, they're all fine. They all work the same because they're all SPD settings. The only RAM that'd be different would be crucial because of it's more strenuous testing process. Other than that, they are all the same.

Please explain why you would stay away from Kingston. (Not to start an debate.) I am wondering because I have Kingston in my 9300.

Thanks.[/quote]

I've just experienced more reliability and compatibility issues with Kingston than any other major brand... particularly their "Value Ram" line you find on sale at "big box" computer stores. Used to build and sell custom computers for a living [plus do service/ mods/ upgrades] so I've gone through a LOT of memory over the years. Dell notebooks seem very "easy to please" when it comes to memory so compatibility isn't an issue at all. It's just with all the personal experience I've had w/ their products they're at the bottom of the list, esp. when there are good name brand alternatives at a lower price point.

I got a second stick of Transcend Ram to go along with the 1 gig stick I bought last summer. It works great! Only a slight speed increase in game smoothness over the previous 1.25 gigs I had in it, but I was touching up a photo a little while ago, and it's much better than before.

Now I gotta sell the two hynix 256 m sticks I pulled out of my 9300...

I just realized dell 512Mb DDR they give you is 2 dimm this is horrible I want a 1 512 stick. I hate how they do that now all I'm going to have is 1.25GB DDR in the computer.

Good luck selling those 256's. Looks like the market is flooded with these sticks. Nobody's really going to want them unless you are giving it away for free. Even then...why would you buy a 256?
Just to stick in my $0.02... I personally have been building computers for some time and don't remember hearing of transcend. I always seem to be the one to have problems with off-brand memory. I always spend the extra on better quality memory and if it's $10-20 extra that's a definite buy.

stupid 256mb I hate how dell does that know body wants that I hope it will play games okay with only the 1.25 for now untill I stick 2gb in.

PennyBags... for 20$ more per 1gig stick you can get the Corsair 1gig sticks for the 9300/XPS. Of it you want to spend 40$ more per stick you can order the Mushkin Dual Channel 2gig kit for 215$. But Dual Channel won't give you much.

I just got the 2 gigs of transcend mem in I orderd. These pups are 4200 533 mhz. Now, Has anyone used there old dell ram ( 4200 533 mhz) in a 3200 400mhz system? My friend would like to have my 533 1gb of ram, but I have never tried putting the 533mhz in a 400 mhz bus system? Any ideas?

I can't seem to find this on ebay. Can you provide a link?

I searched in ebay stores for ctechsolutions and it didn't find anything.

Why spend more if you don't have to?
