Absolutely *HATE* Ferrari 4000

Thread Starter
I recently picked up a Ferrari 4000. I hate it. The thing overheats after 10 minutes of playing WoW, both in stock OS/driver config, and a reformatted WinXP Pro/Catalyst v5.11 config.

To me, a laptop that overheats under normal use is a notebook of terrible design. And a notebook of terrible design does not deserve my $2000.

My ferrari never over heats either

I've played doom3, farcry, black and white 2, about an hour of WoW and everything ran fine. Mobilemeter recorded an average temp of about 65C whilst playing, not cool by any standards but certainly not overheating.

i spent 3 hours playing F.E.A.R. no overheating problem whatsoever. Maybe you got a defected product.

Don't hate it!!! You got a defected F-4000. Ask your reseller to change it, instead!!

Well, let us be honest, it seems that Ferrari is not the same depending on distibution area, for example, I saw some complain about heat, other about fan noise, for me heat is good, and fan is almost silent ( specially with daytime noise), if you got a problem then I strongly recommand sending it back, Acer need to know they have to provide all clients same specs, also I find people with 4002 complain more than people with 4005 (not sure really), anyway, maybe we should start a pool, and see what eveybody have in mind.

Sager, yes I wished if I can get one, for me Ferrari was the last piece of laptop in a client stock, I got it for good price, and it was deducted from my pay check, when I got it I felt luck, and let me tell you what I have used it for till now:

_I designed a full size Sign Board (Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop)
_Website design and Java programming (dreamweaver/Eclipse)
_Movies/music
_Gamming (Rome Totalwar,HL2,The Day After)

Didn't fail me, BUT, I don't like the CD speed (ripping) and somtimes (and I think because I have allot of background apps) it have a playback lag (till I get the time to clean format it).

So don't hate it, just replace it with another Ferrari or Sager!

I hope I have ben of a help.
