Asus A8N-E and Windows

After installing and putting together my new system it works great except that it load very slow and sort of hangs for a bit on the Asus start-up screen as soon as windows logo pops up it loads within 10 - 15 seconds just takes a while from power on until I see the logo and get into windows....

I am boggled at the moment and thought peeps may have some suggestions.

Do you have the machine set to boot from your primary HDD first?

I noticed that it had an odd boot sequence by default. (just bought that board about 2 weeks ago) You may want to check like Thunder said.

OK. Double checked boot setting things look in order... I just don't know why it spends 10-20 seconds on the ASUS starting screen and then another 20 - 30 seconds on a black screen. Once I get to the windows screen it takes about 5 seconds to get logged on...

Nothing wrong just wondering if this is normal, my old machine had an ASUS mobo and AMD XP 2600 and loaded in less time.

Could it be any kind of virus scan you have? I just mention that because I recall Norton causing extra load time when I looked over someones machine before. Prolly not your problem, but thought I'd mention that.
