Benchmark tests!

I see a lot of users have benchmark tests in their sigs ranging from 4k-7k. Where can I test my computer. I think this music program that I had to download ran a mandatory benchmark test and I got a score of 4187 but I am not sure if that is accurate. What is the benefits of having a high score and how can I increase it up to 6-7k.

I think some people who mark the higher scores either have O/C their card or are running a 7800 card instead of the 6800.. the highest I've seen with the 6800 is about 4-5K.

but stock will get ya about 3k and a half.

Here's a general guide for the three main cards found in the 9300/XPS2/M170 and their stock, overclocked, and highest overclocks I've seen for each. However, better and more tweaked drivers will affect these scores 100-200 marks anyway.

6800Go -
Stock - ~3200
Overclocked -4400+
Highest Seen - I think it was mmz that overvolted his (not recommended unless you know what you're doing) and got ~5400+

6800Go Ultra -
Stock- ~5200
Overclocked- 6000+
Highest Seen- ~7000

7800Go
Stock- ~6600
Overclocked- 7500+ anyway, that's still being tested
Highest Seen- 8000+

Anyways, correct me if I'm wrong, but there's a guage on where the marks fall. 3DMark05 is basically a test of your graphics processing capablities, so it's highly graphics card dependent.

the 7800 shifts the 9300 to the 7000 mark with moderate overclock

nvidia clocks 440/1200

Yeah, he had the NV41 core. Most of us have the NV42 (ultra rejects).

'tis a sad truth

And yes, you can get your 6800Go much higher by overclocking the SOB. There's a list of guides on it in the guide in my sig.
