Does the multiplayer work in this one? I had read somewhere that a version of the Q4 demo had broken multi, but functional single player. Is this a new one?

I uninstalled it after playing it when it first came out... didn't find it all that interesting for some reason. Graphics are nice however.

I just finished the full version of the single player game tonight. All in all, not bad. I felt it was worth the time and money.

I haven't played any public multiplayer stuff since 98 when I had a 700 pound Apex server rack in my living room with 9 Quake 2 servers. I played a bit too much back then. (I averaged about 60 hours a week.)

I think for me it was the return to the original Quake 2 storyline that kept me into it long enough to finish it. The friendly AI, the ones who actually fight along side you from time to time, was done pretty well too.

Other than that, yeah, it's just another nice looking FPS. It was a little repetitive towards the end, but the maps never got monotonous, which is a plus.

Game was to much go here, shoot that. In this day and age, you need more than gameplay from a decade ago and updated graphics. Graphics were very nice though, and continuation of quake 2 was also a plus.

Oh, and there are some seriously gruesome props and scenes in this game. There were a few times that I had to stop and just stare at things. Ick.

For those who know what I'm talking about, please don't post any spoilers.

Doom 3 anyone? OMG the gameplay in that sucked. I cheated my way through the last half of it just to see the levels and it still wasn't worth it.

Sorry, we now return you to your regularly scheduled topic.

New game sugestions

Man I need some new games any sugestions? I like the single player real graphic intence. Here is my library. So let me know what my next purchase should be.

Half Life 2 (great)
F.E.A.R (great) DVD version editors Edition
Far Cry (great) CD's
Doom 3 & Resurection evil (great) CD's
Splinter cell chaos theory (great) DVD
painkiller ( just ok never could really get into it) CD's
Hitman contracts (ok) CD's
Batelfield 2 (it is ok but really made for multi player)
Soldier of fortune Double Helix (great one of my ole favorites)
Grand Theft Auto Vice City ( poor graphics Weak Game)

Off topic I am starting to notice a pretty big difference in the newer more demanding games after I upgraded from the 6800 Ultra to the 7800 Go GTX at first i diddnt see too much improvement . But when the Half Life Lost coast demo came out it really put a strain on my 6800 Ultra . I just played it again for the first time with my upgrade the 7800 Go and man it is smooth as butter. Anybody else notice this? Or maybe they patched the game for it to run better? Or am I loosing it?

Anyway feel free to sugjest what you like or think I should get next. My library should give ya a pretty good idea of what im into. All single player.

Thanks

Agreed, quake 4 was a bit of an improvement but not by much.

7800 is a great upgrade in terms of performance/cost ratio

In latest games like Quake4, especially at the native 1920 resolution, 7800 outperforms the 6800 ultra by at least 70%. With Nvidia releasing new drivers, the difference will get even bigger.
