I recently got a 2005fpw lcd and connected to my Inspiron 8600 /w radeon9600PT. But there are small picture defects that are hard to discribe...the best I can come with is banding or smearing the picture. This is especially noticiale on white or light backgrounds). Before buying this lcd monitor, I had a CRT connected to the laptop and experienced no problems. I also tried hooking up the new lcd to a desktop comp with a Radeon 8500, and the picture was crystal clear. So my main concerns are: 1) is there a way to eliminate the picture banding on the lcd 2) is this banding carry the risk of permanent damage to the monitor and 3) is my laptop to blame for the picture defects or is it the monitor?
