No. My father (and everyone else here in my home) use the other notebook (see sig) for internet and stuff. My 10 year old sister use for light games, too. So, I can't keep the router in my bedroom because the other notebook doesn't have wireless.
I use my notebook mostly in my bedroom in the confort of my bed using the wireless. Also, using my notebook in my bedroom allows me to stay in the cold of the air conditioner (it's extremely hot here now - summer -, even for me)
. It happens that I can't put friends on the living room because people like to mess (and break) things. So I'm in a situation that it's hard to get everyone in a good place to play games (not my bedroom, visit's room maybe) because, normally, there is always someone here on the net. How can I bring my router/switch if I need to allow people to connect to internet? Putting wireless on the other notebook allows me to carry the router to any place in the house and avoids the need to run ethernet cables.
Also, with my router in the bedroom I'm even more tempted to test OpenWRT on it (can stay hours playing with it). I know that my adsl modem can switch to router, but it's crappy and doesn't always work the way it should. That's why I use it as bridge and my linksys as pppoe dialer/router.
