FS: Dell XPS 600 with 7800GTX

I bought an extra gaming rig while I was shopping at Dell's outlet. It has shipped, but I haven't received it yet (due Tuesday), so I thought I'd offer you guys a deal first rather that sell it on feebay when I get it.

In my experience, Dell's refurb's are indistinguishable from new. They're generally canceled orders or returns made in the first 21 days of ownership, and always brought up to new condition. They have the same warranty as new systems (one year XPS warranty in this case).

If you've never seen an XPS, you really should check them out. Fantastic clamshell-design screwless case, and top-tier components throughout. The XPS 600 is Dell's first SLI rig.

Specs:

model: Dell XPS 600
cpu: Intel 630 (3.0GHZ, 800MHz FSB, 2MB L2, EM64T)
chipset: NVIDIA nForce4 SLI X16
video: 7800 GTX (430MHz core, 256MB GDDR3 @ 1.2GHz)
mem: 2GB DDR2-533 (4x512MB)
disk: 160GB SATA
opticals: 16X double-layer DVD+/-RW, CDRW
power supply: 650W
os: xp home
also includes floppy, keyboard, mouse, original box, manuals, disks, etc.

price: $1299 + estimated UPS shipping cost
terms: money order or paypal (shipped only to confirmed address)

More specs here.

A little bump action. Any questions about this machine? How about a pic of Dell's 7800 GTX (check out the Harley heat pipes):

Just to add to the appeal of the thread, i had an Dimension XPS Gen 2, 9800Pro, 3.2GHz CPU, Absolutly loved the computer, dell has great tech support, thier gaming machines are top notch, if your going to be buying any type of computer, in this care a gmaing rig, BUY FROM Dell.

Dellbert is A++ in my books for great info when i used to be a little n00b to this forum

Good luck dellbert!

No monitor?

No, Dell doesn't bundle their refurbs with monitors. This config with no monitor lists for about $2000 on Dell's site. I figure that everybody has a good LCD these days, but I see that Dell does discount monitors when bundled with a new system, so I'm knocking $100 off the price!

New price: $1199 and I'll throw in a free Sound Blaster X-Fi card if you buy before I I list it on feebay!

Yeah, I have waaay too many Dells. My wife has Dells. My kid has Dells. The dogs have Dells. I can't resist a good deal.

I'm flexible on the config of this system. If there are some parts you don't want (even the CPU), let me know and we can probably work a deal. I've got enough Dells sitting around that I can always use random components, and this system is priced below what the individual components would cost you on someplace like newegg.

Damn, I'd jump on it if it was already decked out with another video card for SLi. Anyone know how much another Dell 7800GTX would set you back??

Probably around $400. If I find out for sure, I'll let you know. You'd also need an SLI bridge if you want to go SLI. And I've heard that you don't need a perfectly matched card for SLI these days. Any 7800 GTX should work.

Frankly, if you want an SLI rig, I'd go with a faster CPU. The other machine I bought was an XPS 600 with 3.8GHz CPU, dual 7800's, and a Raptor. It's fast. Faster than I really need, but I'm sure something out there will require this much headroom. Someday.

Anyway, this is last call. I plan to list this puppy on feebay tomorrow.
