I have a Toshiba A-70-ts1 (canadian model) with 512megs pre-install with ATI 9000 mobility 64 megs (shared....)

specification/manual says that If I expand over a gig of memory I can share up to 128megs to video card. (i know, it's still shared...)

I was planing to buy a additional 512 megs at local "futureshop" to get 512+512 of ram. With that I can go in settings of the video card and share to 128 megs?

is it how it work?

thanks!!

I believe, once you upgrade to over 1G of RAM, you should be able to get into the BIOS and increase your allocated shared memory from 64 to 128, if your computer was so designed (with up to 128MB shared memory)

Actually, I previously owned that model, and once you upgrade to 1 GIG or more, the amount of memory shared with the video card is automatically set to 128 MB. In fact, you cannot even set it to anything lower then 128 MB through the GUI.

Well, I havent got my ram yet, local store didin't have any..

But you seem to be the PERFECT person to ask if it was worth it!!!!

So "univercity", did you notice a big improvement with added memory? was there a big diference with video extensive software?

Did you play any games with the a-70?
