I'm half tempted to spit out that this may prove to the effect that the newer 9300's are using the same internal hardware as the XPS and the A05 bios still hold true as being same/similar. If SATA is only in the XPS laptop, then why is it all these new 9300's have them?!?! *shrug* Maybe I'm letting too much optimism get to me.
People at Dell are reactive not proactive. They only know what they have experienced in the past not giving way to the possibility of change. Dell doesn't update them on what they are doing to machines internally and the last thing they want people to know is they can buy a 9300 much cheaper and get the same XPS power.
One advantage I see with these SATA, since they seem to have standard SATA plugs you can connect one to your desktop if you need too. Say if the lappy dies and you need to get files off it. With the PATA drives I think there where kits you could get to do this, but with these it's just pop on the cables.
