5720 owners with 7800gtx is your bios OC-locked?

Does sager have a overclock lock in the bios of 7800gtx like dell have? or can you overclock your 7800gtx with rivatuner or coolbits and it stays at the setting you choose?

You can overclock the 7800 in the 5720. But you have to use RivaTuner or something. As far as I know it doesnt mess with the bios though. You'll have to set RivaTuner or whatever to load that profile on startup or something.

I don't see why you would want to overclock anyway, but yes, it is possible. My friend has a 5720 and it works on his.

I believe there are many 7800 owners in the dell forum who would like to play around with your vid bios if they had the chance, since the one in the m170 is locked. OCing through bios flashing can be a pain.

im tring to oc my graphic card. when i run 3dmark2005, it shows VGA core clock at 12.8Mhz(??????) , VGA memory clock 1.1Ghz.
isnt that supports to be 400Mhz instead of 12.8Mhz????????
even i change core clock, it still shows 12.8Mhz.
i clicked system details in 3dmark.

Google coolbits. For Dell users all we need to do is D/L a user made boot cd and flash the bios with the core and mem speeds we want. Its basically idiot Proof Mine is running at 445/1250 right now.

I dont think it hold s the OC'ing. I have jacked mine up at least 5-10 times and whenever I check it its back at stock speeds.

I also cant find CPU frequencies in the BIOS. I know its stupid to OC a laptop i just cant help wanting that last damn 3dmark!

you cannt find cpu frequencise in the BIOS. you can only choose
OC with 3%,6%,9%,12% and 15%.

i tried 15%. it runs at 2.3ghz. from 2.0ghz

I've also got the M570A (NP5720) and it seems that every time i try to clock the GPU up it returns to stock as soon as i click apply lol, it happens in coolbits & rivatuner.

Let me know if theres any way around this (Altho i shouldnt be complaining, my stock 3DMark05 score is 6796)

Thanks,

Regards,

SiriX...

overclocking the cpu doesnt help much in 3dmark2005 anyway. id sugest flashing the bios its not as dificult as everyone makes it out to be nore is it dangerous prevideing you use intelegence instead of stupidity.

mine is locked also, .. but wait wasnt that thread dead already?
hey guys it could be your drivers and not the vid bios ,try modded desk top drivers or some other ones and try over clocking then.

Does EVERY sager-5720 FROM PCTORQUE.com have a overclock in bios? like (you can choose OC with 3%,6%,9%,12% and 15%.)
or
only some CPU like 2.0 , 2.13???

wich CPU should I add to get overclock in bios?
Thanks
