I already have a computer guys.. and I'm pretty happy with it ._.; It was ~$2,000 (Last time I hit football..) This time I hit $7,000........ Haha =D.. I guess I'll buy 2gigs of ram right now then !!!!!! Oh btw, I'm gambling illegally and I am only 17.. I doubt I can get a house.. Haha

buy 18 shares of Google with it.

I find it funny someone suggested $7k for a downpayment on a house. LOL Minimum avg housing market is like $180k right now I believe. You're 17, I'd suggest a car for $6000 then use the rest to get your insurance and stuff settled (used to the insurance tab here in NJ)

yeap, in cali houses are up there. well 7000 can definitelly get him started on a car.

i built a pc on newegg for 8k srry out of ur budget. it was almost top of the line.
specs
tyan nforce4 pro dual socket 940
2x Dualcore Socket940 Italy core Opteron 280s
16gb of Ram from kingston(4gb(2x2gb)kits)
2x7800gtx's (512s were out)
4 Hitachi SAS drives
PCI-X LSI MegaRAID logic card
LianLi full tower i believe v2100b
2 I-Star 2x500w double redundant psus
4 Plextor dvdrw drives(slotloading of course )
xfi platinum pro

if u had that system it would make like 30000 in 3dmark05
post #35 of 41
now thats a system I want!

GD your could seriously buy a nice car like above for that! I would like to have one of them cars in the featured pictures above! I could get some major ACE with one of those beauties!!!

I have a hard time believing anyone is stupid enough to build a computer like that, there is no need for the redundant things you have listed there. I don't care if you work for intel running simulations to design the next processors, you did far overkill and just wasted money IMO

1000 watts must treat ur electricity bill well btw hahaha

That PS setup is capable of 1000 watts. It won't draw 1000 watts unless both supplies have a full load on them.

Check out my upgrade:
http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=121725

I have a PC Power and Cooling 850 in there now. After the upgrade I will have dual watercooling systems internal to the rig.

My FX 55, two sticks of Muskin ram, chipset, two Geforce 7800 GTX 512s will all be liquid-cooled. My ALX already has a laser-etched window. I will be painted by Smooth Creations in color-shifting paint with custom Star Wars graphics in December/Jan. I also have a Hypersonic FX7 with AMD X2 4800 and Geforce 7800 GTX go on order with same paint from Smooth and also custom Star Wars graphics on the lid.
