I need a new laptop.

I previously had a toshiba laptop which was 17" and very big for me.
I want to be able to play COD2, MOHAA and BF2.

I want something 15.4 that is powerfull but will settle for 17" if I have too.

I am deciding between asus a7va or sager 5320 or sager 5720 or dell 9300.

let me know.

is the Asus Z70va compare well to sager 5230.

also which is better?

6600 or x700
Most people will tell you that the x700 is better; the general consensus I've heard is that it uses slightly less power and offers very slightly better performance.

However, if you plan on doing anything with Linux, go with the 6600.
The x700 is more powerful benchmark wise. But you wont notice any performance difference on most applications. Plus it has a better battery save feature.

The Sager 5320 is very powerful and I like mine. I'd recomend it to most who need a powerful notebook thats still portable.

go with dell and get tthe 7800

Dell is crap. They have horible support and parts.

z7va if you want to stick with just windows and "acceptable" performance in current games

5720 if you want linux, uber performance, and want it to last a long time.

might wanna also wait for the x1600 and the 7600go, which should perform better than the 6800go in the 9300, but fit in a 15.4".

the x1600 looks really promising cause it handles high resolutions better than the x700 or the 6600. havent seen anything on the 7600go though yet.

Man.. I knew 2Pac wasn't dead yet Anyway.. the Sager 5320 has a 256mb x700. It's a pretty sweet notebook. I have the Z70VA, which is also a great notebook. Either one.. you can't go wrong. Performance-wise.. I would say that the Sager will have slightly higher benchmark scores.

You cant go wrong with a Z70VA. It's an awesome unit in a professional looking package. Love it so much that I use it on a daily basis.

Well maybe is true, but for the money is the best deal. I do a long research (Alienware, Sager, Clevo, Voodoo, HP, PCWidow, etc, etc.) and select the dell. Also, I never consider a Dell before. I'm a part time gamer, do a lot of excels and drawings and that machine can be a good DVD player for my son (little people, Lazy Town, Backyardigans, etc.)

And when I read about the pin mode and the GPU replacement (future upgrade) I made the purchase.

dont flame warning!
the alienware m5500 is a 15.4" laptop with the 256mb go6600. It beats the asus z70va in 3d mark 05, and almost ties with the sager 5320. Cheaper than both. All scores were at default clocks. The 5500 should be able to overclock quite considerably.

I'd actually recommend a HP dv4000. Easily configurable for gaming at $1400 or less from HP's website.

Remember to buy stuff you can upgrade later somewhere else(RAM, CPU (get at least the Pentium M), hard drive)

Get Dell's 9300 with 7800. You can't go wrong. I have no problems with either my Beauty or Beast.
You can get loaded 9300 for around 1200 using coupons, making it the best bang for your buck. On top of that, you can upgrade your GPU to the 7800 gtx (best mobile card out so far). Don't listen to people like Twilight, I am very satisfied with my Dell. (But just in case you aren't satisfied when you get it, they have a 21 day, no questions asked return policy)

O now you've done it. The dell gods shake their fists in anger and send lightning bolts from the sky to destroy your 5320.

i owned a bunch of dells before and their support is okay in my book. In part because i never call them up and ask for little things that i could figure myself. And i"m fortunate to never have a "lemon" before

AW 5500. Slimline case, switchable graphics for battery life between onboard for applications, spreasheets etc.., 6600 go for gaming, Centrino processor, and a cookie.

You want some dell horror stories from my friends, just PM me.

If you got the original Uniwil model, you could get the alienware with the 6600 and onboard video cheeper. Plus it wont have the corney paint job....lol I know I'll get flamed for that.
