Mini-PCI card in M505XL?

I want to replace the Intel 2100 wireless card with a 2915.

Where inside this thing is it located? I see the mini-pci modem, but no 2100..

Already went through gateway's support docs.

Couldn't exactly tell you. I wasn't aware that modems for almost any laptop came in mini-PCI format, they are generally just riser cards of the motherboard. Anyway though, look for your wireless antenna wires. They should be black and white, and terminate in little 90 degree angle connectors. They'll be running from one side of your screen to the wireless card. Hope that helps a little anyway.

Aren't the wireless integrated on the mobo?

No its underneath the keyboard/heatsink... Be aware if u upgrade to the BG 2200 wireless card ,u have to flash the bios or your m505 won't recognize the new card.
