Oh, they know, but they also know that it was a loophole that they were overly slow in plugging. They won't be doing anyone any favors soon.

Ugh. This deal already croaked? (I figured it was THE "refurb" price) so I figured I would wait til I aquired the 9-cell and the 130 Watt. Rats.

On all these quotes you can get $89 credit back once you recieve the card and cancel the installation fee that automatically comes included in the qoute.

So you are saying they are now including the installation in the refurb? So we could still get it too the door for under 300?
whatever the total quote you get, is actually 2 seperate quotes bundled into one which you actually get 2 order numbers for if you make the purchase. you will see one of the order numbers is for $89. dont cancel that until you have the card in hand. I think that install quote is snuck into the price of both new and refurb. relatively easy to cancel once you have the card. If you didnt get your bid on ebay for a "xps gen 2". just tell them that you have found another use for the card or are waiting to big on another gen 2 to use. bam, 89bucks credit back

So can you still get it, but $89 more now? (then just cancel the install?) Hmm, why do I have a feeling not? (and to think I am gonna upgrade my desktop to a 7800GTX or ATI 1900XT soon) I really don't wanna super expensive laptop upgrade.
I'm glad I didn't shell out 400+ for all of upgrade parts. I don't even play games all that much, and when I do, I can tolerate setting things to medium quality.

I have no idea, i didnt get mine for that cheap, but there is a 89 install fee whichh you can cancel once you order which you will see and you can cancel is what im saying. both order numbers come with the 1 purchase of whatever the heck they quote you. for instance, 600-89=511 <all said and done.

well i payed about that for my first laptop about 4 years ago? and thanks to dells awsome warranty exchange I recieved this 4 years later for no cost? ill gladly drop 500 on a card that essentially made my original purchase last 6+ years? considering this may be the terminal card. I dont even remember which model number laptop was originally purchased, but it was black. The additional warranty coverage is WELL worth it!!! 1.3k laptop purchase that you can play the latest and greatest on 5 years down the road is one hell of a purchase

Well, my first post here. This was a tempting deal and I tried it out, but it didn't go well...

I called, told them I wanted a replacement part for my XPS Gen 2 (I don't actually have one) they gave me the part number HF594 and told me that the price is 599$. I said that my friends bought the same and that they paid 259.68$. He said this is not possible. Then I asked him to try CG809. He said that part was also 599$, but he wasn't sure if it'd fit... well I was sure, it would. UNLESS they sent only the box that is :

Well, then I asked if this is brand new or refurbished, and said that it wouldn't matter to me whether refurbished or brand new... He said it is refurbished, the replacement parts are never brand new!!!

Well, seems like end of the line, the deal -if we may call it- is dead. And I don't think it is coming back... Well, if it ever does, remember to mail me

take care all...

So you called once, talked to 1 person, got the "it'll be 599.00" line and gave up? Have you read this thread or even the last few pages? Most people have to call more than once. Some have stated it took them 7, 8 and even 9 phone calls before they were able to get this price! Remind me not to mail you since you did NOT try in the first place. Many people here have worked hard and spent time on the phone and HAVE received the 7800GTX right up to this week.

yea it took me a total of at least 2 hours on the phone to get this damn thing . But at least now it has shipped and should be here in the morning
It does look a bit rough for those trying to order now, but maybe just keep at it every few days and the price will be brought back down
