That's the thing with ebay, it doesn't have to make sense.

Because the people on Ebay don't know about this. People are paying 500+ on ebay for the 7800.

Because these are refurbished cards (nothing wrong with them!!). Also on Dells website they are still selling for over $500.00 bucks and THATs on sale from $600.00! Also most people dont know about calling and getting one of these cards.

Hey rallycobra, another question. Does this 7800 part comes with heatsink or just the video card?

So we dont need to buy the Northbridge heatsink any more? Thats awesome cause i got a 9 cell battery with my 9300 i got this week and i have an extra 130w AC adapter from my XPS 2 i'm selling so i guess i'm set to go.

It should come with its own heatsink which is the same that is used on the Go 6800 Ultra in the XPS 2.

Well i dont know about anyone else but i havn't seen a deal like this for a Go 7800 GTX before tonight. They normally go for over $400. $200-$250 for a mobile 6800 Ultra seems pretty fair to me considering you can't hardly buy a desktop version for that and notebook parts are always more expensive then desktop parts.

Does anyone have an idea of the % increase in performance by jumping from a 6800 ultra to the 7800 in an xps2?

Thanks.

Jetwash, for an accurate idea of performance increase between those 2 video cards I would recommend going to a site, such as tomshardware.com, and looking at their reviews of the 7800gtx 256meg cards yourself. Altho they have reviews of the desktop model... they do compare it to the 6800 Ultra. And you asked for a difference between those 2 gpu's in term of performance, so I think that would help you best.

You know I was just thinking to myself that these cards are the one's that everyone returned after getting bent copper pieces

As long as they are fixed and working fine I do not care. It is too good of a deal to pass up.

Alritey...been looking to upgrade to the 7800 myself...just didnt want to pay 500 smackeroonies for it.
Just got off the phone with Dell...ordered the card as well as the power supply.
I already have a 9-cell battery.
The dell rep did ask me where i got the card's part number from...and i told him i got it from a friend, and i was buying it for him. He started checking to see if my 9300 is gonna be compatible with it....which was when i told him that i was buying it for a friends XPS.
everything went smoothly after that...hope its a good overclocker lol.
Kudos to yall for spreading the information about this good a deal.

Took the plunge. No problems whatsoever.

$277 shipped, but he said it might not be until 12/27 until it goes out. Apparently they are limited quantities of these suckers. I asked him to tell me what card it was he said it was a 256mb G70. Hope that = 7800GTX.

Sorry dude, I know how that feels. But at least yours is a retail product. These are refurbs parts. They might or might not OC as well. But I don't mind.
just finished over the phone, he said next day as in tommorow...
I paid 270 + Tax. Maybe they have different shipment centers with different quantities? I'm in NJ. Ironically I'll have the video card before the laptop :P
