How I ordered a 7800gtx go for $259.68 - Page 5

Ok screw it, I did it too . For $250 how can you go wrong? Hell, a desktop 7800GT costs more . Unfortunately I cant put it in until after finals, damn I have to focus . Anyway, major props and a rep to rally for posting this great deal

Anyone willing to help a deployed soldier jump on this deal? I'm in Kuwait and I can't call the spare parts # from where I am. All I need is someone with good refs that can buy one for me, and then send it to my APO once its delivered. I got $300 to anyone that will do me this favor. Send a PM my way if interested.

Hmm...This makes me nervous: Here's what I see in dell.com order status (I have not received confirmation email):

Order GroupQuantityItemDescription
11CG809CUS,CRD,GRPHC,256MB,M170,G70
2111725WTY LGR 90DAY/CPU WTY

Thats a different part number. Can anybody confirm this is correct?

Thanks,
John

This could be good. That part number could be the boxed/non-refurb version of the 7800 because they run out of the refurb. I don't know, just a guess.

G70=7800, next year will be G80 for the 8800 or whatever they decide to name it.

Unless Dell changed something, all cards in hte 9300 should use the 9300 MXM slot, so yes, you should be good to go.

I'm going to buy an adapter off ebay for ~$30. Cant see paying Dell $65 for the same thing.

I'm also happy to pay $300USD plus shipping if someone can order a 7800go for me (also for me Aussie mates if possible - see my thread re: Aussie Groupbuy). Payment via paypal can be arranged. Feel free to PM me!!

All help will be appreciated!

Just placed my order as well. $286 including tax(I'm in Austin) and overnight shipping. He said they were in stock and will ship by the 13th. I'll apply AS5 before I install it. Anything else need to be done? I'll check on newer driver versions since I haven't done that in a while. But anything else such as needing latest bios etc..? I do not plan on overclocking.

Help that guy Gfern25? Doesn't he have friends, relatives, parents in the US? Aren't they what something like this is for. That way he knows he can trust the people and they know that he's not trying to scam them. Sounds fishy to me and if it's not a scam I apologize. But still think going with someone you know is definitely the way to go. Maybe I've been using ebay too long and come across too many scams. Gfern is probably legit, but oh well. I'm an untrusting person.

There are no such thing as Retail cards lol

They are Dell Cards.

not possible.
not the same form factor...with the heat sink and all.
but..on second thoughts...if you could swap out the heat sink with the one from the 6000, it could be possible.

If anyone would be scammed ,I myself would have the greater chance of that happening. Im the one putting my money up and for all i know someone could have a nice 7800 go on my coin. I've pm'ed you my reasons already. Anyway, leave it at that.
