380w enough to power eight drives

I'm upgrading to eight harddrives in my server and I was wondering if my current 380W(Antech TRUE380) power supply will be enough? I've seen it done but these are large drives six Maxtor 250 GB and two 3.2 GB maxtor drives and my board is running a power hungry Athlon XP 1800. Ive seen many servers running 350 and 400 watt power supplies, but they didn't have as many hard disks. Some suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey thanks for the input. And yeah we are housing a large mysqul database on it(ofcourse not 1.5tb, but big nontheless). And yea we are going to set it up in a RAID 5 array using a promise sx6000 , so it actualy comes out to 1.25 terrabytes. But since I'm trying to do this right I'll splurge and get a 500 watt power supply, there goes my electric bill.

holy ****... if you need 8 hard drives, I'd go out and get one of those massive 500watt power supplies, or run them off two 400's! actually, running separate power supplies may even be a good idea, so the voltage won't drop too low for the CPU when 8 drives power up concurrently...

RAID-5 and all the other "stuff". Go for a BIG power supply. When you turn it on, please let me know so that I can see if I have to adjust the reostat for my home power. NEWS FLASH - City Dims When Dirgle Starts His System - More at 10:00 folks.

The place I live in has old wiring and all the lights would actually dim when I had all my electronics running, so I had to run a separate line from my power box on its own breakers. I haven't seen separate power supplies used before, how dose that work? I've seen redundant power supplies but not dual.

I put in a 430 watt power supply to power 4 hard drives, 3cd-roms and 12 80mm fans (3 aren't led). It would be wise to put in a higher capacity power supply for all the componets in your server. Just to say that is my desktop.
