Clicking noise from power supply.

My XPS2's power supply often makes a loud clicking noise, as if it is cycling on and off. It's plugged into a 20k generator that occasionally surges, and is shut off at random intervals for maintenance. Should I be worried about this clicking noise? It still works fine, but I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this. If it's a sign of impending failure, I'd like to know so I can go ahead and have dell get another one on the way for me as it takes about 5 weeks for any mail to reach me.

Thanks.

it's fine.. my 5150 uses the same power supply and it's been doing that for years (I use it with my XPS2 too)

The Sager guys had a thread about this a while back too, everyone agreed it was fine from what I recall.

That's good news. I might go ahead and see if Dell will send me another one, they've been real good about sending me parts under warranty without wanting the "broke" stuff back. I don't think it would hurt to have a spare when a replacement one is a month away, I'm doing to much work on the beast to be without it for a month.
