Hey, i just ordered one, and its suppose to come on the 21st of december... my question is... how common are dead pixels? I hear some say they are, some say they arent, i just dont want to pick up a laptop i spent 2500 bucks on and have a few dead pixels (even 1 would bug me) just wondering how many of you guys got dead pix on arrival, etc.?

One dead pixel... Lower right corner. Bought it in July.

You could make it easy on people and make a poll instead of a normal thread.
Haven't detected any dead pixels on my F4000..

Zero dead pixels here. Nothing but good words to be said on this machine.
Bought mid november. Class.

No dead pixels here too (I bought mine late October), actually I haven't had any problem with it so far. Even the bluetooth mouse works ok on my Linux, but in Windows it's laggish. I almost don't use Windows so this is not a problem to me :-) The real problem with the mouse is its weight, sometimes I feel a little pain in my wrist after some hours using it. Using the mouse without the batteries and with the USB cable helps.

sorry, still kind of new here.

ok well thats good to hear.

How easy is it to upgrade these machines with better gfx cards/processors?

no dead pixels either.

As for changing the gfx card forget it because the ferrari doesn't support mxm.

For the processor you'll have to dismantle the laptop. I'm not sure if anyone has tried to do it.

I had a couple (noticable that is) dead/stuck pixels right out of the box on my 4005.

Thankfully, since the pixel density is so high, they are quite hard to notice.

One dead or stuck red pixel in the lower right corner area, and a stuck green pixel in the top left 1/4 of the screen.

I don't have any dead in mine at all nor does my friend.
We bought ours a month apart.
