Model 5600D

Thread Starter
I have a Sager model 5600D which ran very hot, and it shut off after a short time. I put new Arctic Silver between the Heat Sink and CPU which seemed to help cool it a little, but the problems with it shutting off increased to where I couldn't get it to show any kind of video display when it boot up (before shutting off).
At that point, I took out the HD and took it to a repair shop and they got nowhere at all. Told me the Motherboard (MB) was shot and that it was not worth repairing.

My questions are:

1. Since this PC has a 2.8 GHZ processor, what can I use it for if the MB is indeed shot?

2. Can the CPU be used in other non Sager laptops?

3. Is it possible to get a good Sager (MB only) to use with this CPU?

The system is appx 3 years old, but it seems to me that the CPU, HD and video ram are useful. Tell me what to do if you had this problem. I really don't want to throw this out.

Happy Holidays!!
