I agree....

but there are alot of people who are scared to touch the registry... or just dont want to spend 20 minutes right clicking on every service and disabling it (it got old for ema fte the 2nd time)

also you can add lines ot this file and make your own.

anyhow its coming soon!

Ok guys here is the file....

the only set back is its for XP Pro not home. i'll make an xp home one later.

Also, i STRONGLY suggest you back up the registry before you do this. This way if you dont liek the results you can just revert back. to do so:

-Click on Start -> Run.
-Type 'regedit' hit ENTER
-Click on FILE
-Click on EXPORT
-Save the file to your desktop. BE SURE TO SAVE IT AS A .REG FILE!

Anyhow just save my file to your desktop and double click it.

the tweaks in it are:
-disable uneeded services
-speed up start menu
-remove shortcut arrows from icons
-disable search assitant

You'll need to restart for some of these to take effect.

to remove any of theese tweaks just open the file with notepad and remove the liens under the labeled tweaks.

To restore your old settings just double-click on the registry backup you exported.

** use this at your own risk i wont be held responsible harm that may come to your computer **

I.E. in the new XPSP2 by MicroGatesSoft has a KILLER popup blocker. Even blocks Microsoft! It's so good it's annoying because you had to click at least twice to get anywhere. The new XPSP2 RC2 finally has a hotkey (Ctrl) built in. It's still nowhere near as fast as Mozilla or FireFox, but it's acceptable.

Have you found any "cleaners", like FreeToGo on I.E., that work with Mozilla? Like when you want to clean your tracks and cookies, surf in private, etc. I use SpySweeper, Ad-Watch, etc. to block ads. I should probably check SpySweeper\Webroot's WebWasher, see if that does it.
