Can you tell I am EXCITED ?

I wanted to personally thank Ratmyr for his EXCELLENT reviews of the CX7, Patrick @ Hypersonic for instilling confidence in me that you guys rock (based on forums participation and feedback), and last but not least my WIFE (Love you!) for letting me drop the cash for this bad boy.

My rig as follows (when it arrives) Yikes! I cannot stand the wait ARGHHHH:

I wil say right now that after working in the IT industry since 1998 I have seen lots of cool things and that does not make me any less excited about this at all. In fact based on reviews and benchmark data coming in right now this is one heck of a bargain considering the capability of this laptop. I went with Ratmyr on the idea of dead pixel insurance vs. a faster processor. The 2.0 Ghz. Sonoma Core Pentium M chip will smoke alot of "gaming" processors that cost alot more money and that are on the market right now.

Anyways, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Glad to hear that you went with a similar system and thanks for the comments. As I have said many times, my reviews are all part of giving back - and as you may feel, it is always cool to read about other users reviewing their systems, even after you get yours. It's like reliving the experience.

I am really liking the system. Don't get me wrong - I miss the power and storage capabilities I had with the EX7. But for a cheaper, lighter version, it is doing what I need. Very nice.

As for the sleep problems - been there (just as many have). Daily checks of the status on Hypersonic, emails, etc. Always getting a day closer... If you do get delays, be patient. Best advise I can give. If they hadn't delayed my system, I would have had a major hard drive issue shortly after receiving it. The burn-in is worth it.

Good luck!

**UPDATE** Well Alison from Hypersonic just phoned me and told me that my shipping date got pushed from today 12-9-05 to Monday 12-12-05. She stated that the reason for this was that the tech found a flaw in the lid of the flat panel during last checks prior to shipping.

I am still very pleased as this is one of the reasons I bought from Hypersonic. As Ratmyr has previously stated the 72 hour burn in and the inspection process are well worth the wait. I would definately wait until Monday and know I am going to get a kickin' system on next Wed. than wait anxiously all weekend for my new lappie to arrive on Monday only to find a defect or flaw somewhere on the unit.

Thanks Hypersonic for paying attention to detail! I appreciate that when purchasing a big ticket item like this.

I'll keep everyone posted and will get a nice review up after I have had a week or so to digest my new baby

**UPDATE**
I called Hypersonic today to inquire on the status of my new CX7 and they said they got the lid problem fixed with a swapout and its ready to go. They upgraded my shipping to Overnight for free for the extra wait I had to endure over the weekend So far I am a very satisfied customer. Their customer service department has been superb. Hopefully tomorrow I will get my hands on my new baby!

**ANOTHER UPDATE**

My CX7 is on the way!

UPS has it listed as on time with a scheduled delivery date of tomorrow. Thanks again Hypersonic for upgrading my shipping to Overnight for the delay. It is appreciated!

Now I can go from the less desirable type of sleep deprivation caused by waiting for the new baby to ship to the more desirable variety of sleep deprivation induced by hours and hours of zombie like entrancement with bloodshot eyes staring fixedly at the new toy as it sits on the desk! YAY!

LOL Beavis. Anyways thanks. I am excited to say the least. I'll absorb it for a few days and let myself calm down before I write the review so I have some good stuff to spill. Peace

Glad to hear the system is on its way and to you shortly. Definitely interested to see what your thoughts are as well. I know that when I had received my tracking number, I was tracking it all over. I even called my wife hourly - "Is it there yet." Such a variation of the classic "Are we there yet." She didn't think it was funny.

As for DB..... man, I thought the forums was looking a little wet this morning. But I thought it was left over from the snow we had been getting. Now I know it was from the drool.

Ok now I am getting upset (j/k) The UPS guy has driven right past my house 3 times this morning without stopping to even say hello. I just know that my new lappie has been on that same truck all three times and hours later all I can do is watch him drive by. I think next time I will run out into the yard in my house slippers and run screaming down the street after him pleading for mercy. Just give me my laptop! arghhh
post #16 of 78
FYI. Not sure if you are aware, but if the UPS guy drives by your house and you are home, they are supposed to drive away. This is the only way for 1) your item to be left out for anyone to grab, or 2) for you to get the annoying "missed you" note.

I shouldn't knock the UPS guys..... they never lost one of my laptops.

LOL Ratmyr. Boy the intensity of the wait is killing me. Everytime I hear the sound of a diesel motor I run for the front door!

Ok now they drove down the street a fourth time. I am calling the UPS CEO
post #19 of 78
I'm telling you.... shut the curtains and if your car is parked outside, put it in the garage or park it down the street.

Man... this has to be worse than anything else. Keep up the spirit!

Well the website still says "Out for Delivery" so hope yet remains. I took a special "CX7" day off of work today just for this and now as it turns out I could have swung a full shift and still been home in time
