Excellent idea. I will use my old monstrosity of a desktop case to help shield myself from the huge 4 wheeled brown metal monster Just in case I don't survive the epic k|LL3rCr0w vs. UPS Truck battle who wants my new CX7? haha

6:30 PM and still nothing. It has been "Out for Delivery" now for almost 11 hours. Now I am starting to have nightmares about a situation similar to Ratmyr's with the USPS haha

Well welcome to my little club Yea UPS I think is going to get a total lock up from all these requests I keep making after hitting refresh about 400 times on their site I spoke to UPS and they stated to me that everything is still ok. The UPS guys and gals are doing holiday hours now which means up till 11:59 PM on any day of the week! My kids will have been asleep for two hours by the time it might get here. Makes me think maybe I should bake some cookies and brew some coffee for the driver when they finally do arrive with my new lappie

Cookies are baked (Oatmeal, chocolate chip, walnut and raisin) and coffee is ready... The kids are staring fixedly at the cookie tray so if my laptop doesn't get here soon (yep still not here!) the kids are gonna get a sugar high. I'll keep the coffee for me th0ugh.

Wow, I never knew they stayed out til 11:59 PM, even on holiday hours! They must have a bunch of packages. I think the latest I've ever got anything from UPS was around 7.

At 9:38 PM (-5 GMT) a very tired and haggard looking UPS man walked up to my doorstep. When I saw him approaching I thought my heart would stop right there. In his hands, the box. Yes ladies and gentlemen, that box. From Hypersonic with my new CX7!!!! I had to take my wife dinner at work and get the kids to bed before I could really touch it too much but first I of course unpacked that bad girl. She is a beauty to say the least. I looked over her very very very carefully and could not find a physical flaw anywhere. The hinges have a great solid feel and the screen is amazing. Thats all I know since I had to run out.

I will be experiencing it over the next day or two before I write a review but I will say this now: Based on everything I have seen thus far, including the nice X-Mas green wrapping paper wrapped inner box!) this baby is gonna be sweet. More to follow in my review which will come in a seperate thread. Now on to the Windows XP Pro installation and benchmarking before I go to sleep. I have to work in the morning but I have to admit that I might make a late stop at Wendy's for dinner and just pull an all nighter. I would hate to just go to sleep and ignore the object of my uber geeky love when she first comes into my life! LOL Peace

Congrats on the arrival and unbelievable on how they day went.... you have to take some heart medicine or something, because that was a rough day. And you know... if you had just gone to work, they would have been there at 9am.

Well its 4pm here est now and im looking at the status page on my account at hypersonic, its not even shipped yet on the website. I'm stuck at school til about 7 pm so I doubt any chance of it going out today. Yesterday I had talked to allison there at Hypersonic and she told me she would email me which i cant chk til im home. Now yesterday my original ship date was 12/20/05 now its changed to 12/14/05, so im sure she got it pushed up somehow. I made the purchase on 12/04/05 and cant see wtf is taking so long, that's plenty time to do the 72 hour burnin and such. If its a problem with lack of supplies, they could at least email the customers to allow them that kinda knowledge. So I've been sittin almost 2 weeks already waiting with no info. The way i see it, the machine is built sittin on a loading dock waiting til its convenient for them to put it on a truck or somthing.

Just got home and its finally in the shipped status, thanks though Pat. Ok now its the UPS game i guess...Any clue what normal time period for them is from you guys to south florida? Oh and does Hypersonic provide tracking numbers and such so we can track via the UPS website?

w00t Just wanted to check in and say everything is going good. I have been working like a fiend so I haven't had alot of time to play with the CX7 yet but I ran 3dMark05 on it and got 6885.

I was expecting a little higher but that was with anti-virus and everything running in the background so I will strip xp down a little and run it again. Still though for a real world application point of view where I wouldn't be going for the highest of high numbers everyday I am extremely impressed at the 3d mark performance considering this is a Centrino laptop!

Just for a comparison though my old desktop (P4 3 ghz, 800fsb, 2 gig of OCZ PC-3500 Dual Channel, X800 Pro 256) only got 2700 in 3dMark05 with everything running in the background LOL
