So my 9300 went through pre-production, kitting, build, and test all in one day. I was excited! I thought it would be getting here quick... but now it's stuck in boxing. how long was yours there? A day, three days, a week? The expected ship date is next Thursday!! I hope it doesn't sit in boxing for a week!

I ordered Nov 30, it was put into production on Nov 30.

I think a day later it was in boxing and stayed like that for a couple days, but that was only because they didn't update the site. By the time I had checked again on Monday (the fifth) it was in the states working its way up here to Canada.

In all I got mine 8 business days from the order date.

my 9300 shipped on Nov. 30th after about 3 days in boxing. It's been listed as sitting at the Regional APX Sorting Center for a week now though. Hopefully it's not really still there, and they're just slow to update the status.

This is the same progress my XPS M170 had. Built and tested in one day and stuck in boxing for a week. This is SOP for Dell. I found out that my system was built in Malaysia, and from there shipped to Nashville, then on to it's final destrination. My total time from order to delivery was almost two weeks for my XPS.

oh yea, that's right... I remember when I got my 8600 and went throught this...

"Boxing" means it's on the way from overseas to the states, and that may take a while. I should have it by Tuesday or Wednesday I think.

Exactly the same thing for me. I had the image of some india guy, putting everything into its shippingboxes extremely carfully - for 3days. Well, appearantly not.

I am goind through something similar. My 9300 has been in production for 5 days and each day I check the status the delivery date is further away.

don't worry, the date increases, but it goes back down. Also, dont be afraid to call them. I called, and they said they would make a rush on it, and it shipped the next day. Always call and see what they can do for you.

Is there someone in support for ordering issues 24/7? I work 12 hour days and am not able to make phone calls. Waste time posting on forums, yes, but no phone calls.

Mine was in boxing for about 6 days.

But it did arrive the day it was estimated to ship! It went from boxing to delivered in 2 days....

from their email support for me :

Thank you for contacting Dell Customer Care.

Your system is in the final assembly stages, scheduled to ship within 2 to 3 business days. Once order is shipped should be delivered within 4 to 5. If my calculations are correct with the information that is available to me right now, you will receive the system before Christmas.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.
That still puts it a week past original delivered date, but a week better than the most recent on I'd been able to get.
