Laptop in 3 seperate boxes ??

I was just tracking my laptop order from dellcustomercare.com and it says I have a total of 3 packages... I wonder what's in the other two.. unless they're shipping me a disassembled lappy!

what's even more weird is two of those boxes are destined to come to my addy and one's being shipped to Bronx, NY !! another -->

Now, did Dell screw up or do they associate many orders with one order number ??

Box 2 - free printer??
Box 3 - Call UPS, give tracking number and your correct address! Maybe another laptop Good for you.. Sucks for someone else :P

Sure Dell has got the records but they also make mistakes sometimes!!! What about "lost during shipping??" Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Dell loves to ship everything seperate.

I just got a replacement warranty HardDrive for my I6000.
It came in 3 boxes,
Box 1 Hard drive
Box 2 XP Installation CD
Box 3 Drivers discs

This is standard as they are all seperate orders. ie.. there was a different order number for each item. The software and hardware are most likely not even shipped from the same location, disregarding whatever the from address is.

Quite unlikely actually. There have been a number of people who have received 2 identical laptops due to Dells screw-ups and were not asked for them back. I remember hearing over in the 9300/XPS forums where one guy even called dell CS, told them he'd received 2 systems built the same. They told him something like 'thats ok sir have a nice day'. Another guy was shipped 70 bluetooth cards when he wanted 1. He's one of the people now on eBay sellign the rest. I've been on these forums for awhile now (mostly in the 93000/XPS section til now) and I've seen very few cases where Dell asks for something back.

With all that said.. you know for sure that one item is the laptop. Disregard what their online crap says about the printer not being shipped as its very likely that it IS one of the other boxes. I have the new 700m & printer I ordered and the printer still doesn't even show up as being shipped yet. It left the same day the laptop did in a 2nd box. Did you order a laptop bag? I've seen a few people get a bag shipped out to them free and without placing an order for it.

Whatever it is.. just say Merry Christmas To Me or Happy Holidays To Me.. whichever doesn't offend you

Wished I was that lucky with my order (extra mix-up & free stuff!!!) or it really would have been a Merry Christmas to me!!!

LOL thats me.. I wish *I* got some of this free stuff.. Guess what!! I DID!! Emailed Dell a few days ago and told them that the 700m I purchased wouldn't take the free laptopbag coupon during online checkout (I only used 5 other coupons though ;-). Got an email reply today providing me with a new order number for the Dell Deluxe Leather laptop bag! Ohh its shipping out on Monday! I personally dont like it but the wife said she did so thats what she's getting!

btw.. that bag sells on Dell for like 99.00 with a laptop but can be bought on ebay for like 30.00 shipped to your door. This is why I didn't just buy it with the laptop.

when i asked to get the cd's (windows/drivers etc) they sent a total of 4 boxes for 4 cd's...and when i ordered the lappy they sent 2 boxes, one for the laptop itself and another for the bag. They just like sending boxes i guess

Each item is a seperate order and often ships out of different wearhouses.

mayb your getting 4 extra 24" widescreen LCDS....that would be very sweet!

maybe you will get lucky, maybe you wont. my point with all this is, dell has a record of what was sent somewhere. whether they catch it or not is up to them. BUT if they do, expect them to either: charge you or get the stuff back
post #18 of 25
may be u will receive a BOMB
just kidding
Yeah!!! Since it is Dell's mistake & not yours, the extra package could always be "LOST IN THE MAIL!!!"

god if dell could save so much money from shipping expense. company is a douche.
