Panasonic CF-48 toughbook -- need new HD

Hello,

I have a Panasonic cf-48 toughbook and need a new hard drive. I have the caddy, but my old drive died.
Is there a "generic" type of drive that i can use instead of the panny ones, or do i have to use theirs?
I was hoping to get western digital, seagate, etc.. but i want to make sure they will fit/work in my laptop.
Thanks in advance for your help !!

as far as i am aware the CF models have used regular ATA/IDE drives over the years, thus any regular 2.5" notebook hard drive will do.

I suggest to go with either Hitachi (for legendary IBM quality and 7200rpm speed) or with Seagate (for the 5 year warranty). Either way...enjoy!
