Touchpad freaking out on m6810

Hey guys,

Sometimes when I am using my touchpad it starts really freaking out. I will put pressure to move the cursor and when remove my finger it jumps to the bottom of the screen, out of view. As I continue to do this, I can not contol the cursor to do anything. I can hold it in one spot with my finger on the pad but when I remove it, it jumps down or up to the edge. I seems like I have some magnetic or eletrical charge on my finger. I can hold my finger about a 1/4" off the pad and the cursor will move jsut a little bit. I go an touch something to discharge any static but I come back and it's doing the same thing.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks!

Try going directly to the synaptics website and download the newest drivers before ruling out a faulty touchpad.

You don't need the drivers from Synaptec. Just uninstall the drivers you have installed and Windows will detect it as a pointing device. Ssee what that does first.

I second the windows default. they seem to work much better as the scrolling goes wack with the drivers.
