I just spoke to alienware, and they say they expect the 7800 go gtx to come in tomorrow or day after, at least its more accurate than next two weeks or so, but they still said that there was no word yet from the couriers. This is getting really annoying, why cant they just speak to them themselves?

Hope this makes you feel better.

I ordered my Aurora with the 7800 and the 1920x1200 screen on the day they were announced- November 15th. My system just hit production last Friday.

The thing is Selch, are you using Alienware Australia, its only been using the 7800 for about 2 or 3 weeks now, however it does suck for you, post pics and a review when it arrives (should be soon) .

Nope, I'm going through the U.S. store. Hopefully this thing ships by the end of next week. My ETA when I bought it was January 18th so I can't complain that they're not on target. I am however becoming increasingly P.O.'d at my current POS laptop that I'm eagerly waiting to replace.

It takes as long as it takes. They're giving you the best estimate they can.

This is what happens when you order hardware that's just been introduced. It's the same for all manufacturers.

Great, the supposedly "only component of the system they were waiting on", the 7800 go gtx, has now arrived, however Alienware has now informed me that they are waiting on the delivery of the case, which "should have been delivered yesterday, hopefully today". Alienware says everything should most likely be in by monday, however it ticks me off that they just A) Lied to me about the situation, or B) Didnt put enough effort into realising and informing me that parts were still not arrived, when they had told me they had. Its just that with such a high end system, I expect better customer service than this, I'm paying extra for supposedly "superior" customer satisfaction. Itll all be worth it when I take delivery, I know, just my rant, anyone had a similar experience with Alienware?

Just an update, after ordering my m7700 on the 15th December 2005, i have been informed about 10 days ago that the chassis would have finally arrived on the 20th February, a Monday, so maybe if it is all built by tuesday I may have it by the end of the week and while its been a 2+ month wait, im hoping it will have been worth it. Its Sunday right now, so I'll give Alienware Aus a call late tomorrow arvo, praying for no more delays , so here's hoping.

Hello, I have a similar system as yours, P4 650 3.4GHz with the Geforce Go 7800 GTX and 2 GB RAM. I've been playing FEAR on it and I get around 50-60 fps with soft shadows switched off and everything else on high. Resolution at 1280x***. It runs very smooth with the odd lag sometimes when turning corners, but the lags are few. Most older games run super-smooth! You'll be pleased with the system.

Great, I was hoping it would run FEAR well, its Sunday now, so hopefully I will have it in my hands tomorrow and I will post pics when I get it, maybe the weekend after when I dont have to worry about work and school, I will post an in-depth review.

Well, it has arrived, and for the most part, it is FREAKING AWESOME!!! So much power in a laptop, however there is one little problem, they put in a 6800 ultra instead of the 7800 go GTX!!! Ive called and told Alienware Aus, expecting a call in the next hour, pretty much I'm wondering if they will send me out the card and let me install it myself, which I am willing to do, or if they have to have the laptop sent back in for work done at their warehouse, which I REALLY do not want to do, anyway what do you guys think will happen?
Sheesh! How could they make that mistake? That sucks bigtime
