Interesting. These are older than the current nVidia drivers for the Geforece Go 7800 GTX. Is there any reason to use these instead of nVidia's current set?

I would keep using the ones you have. The drivers for the 7800 should improve for awhile and then level off by end of next year. Meaning there will only be fixes for specific games maybe. Since Nvidia is now making mobile drivers available you can try theirs and if there is an improvement keep them. Sager takes awhile to put new drivers out since they need to do a lot of testing first.

I've been using this driver for a few days. Quite an improvement for my old 6800go card, better than the 8x.xx driver i've been using. Download it directly from sagernotebooks.com

I agree Fungo. This driver works VERY well on my system. pc pitstop video tests show that this driver is faster than the 8x.xx drivers.

well pc pitstop isn't my choice of a reliable benchmark, but on the side of reality the 79.xx drivers ARE slighly faster than the 8x.xx drivers, BUT they don't look as good. the IQ is better in the 8x.xx buy a bit, and I don't know about you guys but I enjoy a bit more quality in my image than a few FPS that in the end, doesn't make my gaming experence any better. this is a very very 2 sided issue, I can go on forever about this is better than that or vice versa, at high res, i like to see the beautiful graphics over a few FPS when i Have such a high performance Machine in the first place... Then of course there are the flip siders, who like to show off their FPS on sythetic benchmarks that don't acully show what a real game plays like :P. eacht o their own....

Um...I dont see any noticeable quality difference. The game I played (CS:S & Tiger Woods 2006) seem to look the same with 81.98 or the 79.31 driver. The only difference is, during stress test on CS:S, 81.98 gave me 54fps while with the 79.31 driver, I got 65fps. And most importantly CS run a lot smoother. I am happy with that. It looks like 80.XX drivers are made for 7800 gtx cards???

well, I know for a fact in HL:2 and HL;LC that the water has improvments, and a bit of smoothness with 8x/8x no idea about CS:S sence i stopped playing CS when the skill was taken out of it (can you say jumping around like dumb rabbits) I'm pretty sure it's a much differnt game that is wonderful, just havn't played it myself. and your completly right, your happy with the speed differnce (10 FPS is a big change, I know i havn't had that much change myself in a while), and not a fan of golf myself. the 80's are somewhat 7800 material, but they are tightening up the 6 series bugs and issues, there is still a long way to go for the nv41/nv42 in terms of drivers. now I reread my post (last post) and it does seem a bit over the top, but I guess there are good smart people who can understand, I suck at grammer and typing a quailty paragraph.

I have heard Sager actually modifies their GPU driver's internally, so they optimize their driver's for their customer's.

Run this by PCT Luke or contact Sager for definition...
