8790 Beep Codes

Hi,

I'm pretty sure that i had a massive power surge last night, which fried my system. When I turn it on the fans spin up, and I start to get beep code. I think it's either 1-3-3-1 or 3-3-1, but I'm not sure which bios type the 8790 has, is it Phoenix? Any ideas? Luckily I have insurance, but I'm just wondering what happened.

Thanks in advance,

I just checked mine, and it says Pheonix.

According to this, 1-3-3-1 says a failure of memory or motherboard. Ouch.

Thanks for the quick reply, that's what I was kind of thinking was the problem. Hmm...my insurance says that they'll either fix it or if they can't, replace it with a comperable machine...hmmm...... I wonder what's gonna happen. Didn't Clevo stop making replacement mobo's for the 8790 a while back?

And let me just take a second to tell everyone that they should get insurance on their laptops, for 100 bucks a year i have my laptop covered from everything from theft to accidental damage up to $2000. You don't want to end up with a 10 lbs paper weight!! Safeware is the one I use, but I hear there are others as well.
