When you get the laptop back from AW's Depot, head back to these forums. Do a 3DMark (which I want to add is in no way a representation of how your laptop performs in games). If you are still not happy with the scores, try out some of the numerous tweaks Braingoo has posted in the Tech Support section:

From overclocking to tweaking XP, everything you need to rip off 3DMarks of 3200+ is in there. Just using a few things from that thread I got 3217 last night.

my 2 cents:

-your video card in your desktop can blow away the NV card that is in these things for anything other than Open Gl (quake III based games). The ATI card does alot better, but from what I read it is a bit more of a head ache to get it working correctly.

- the CPU and ram for non video card apps will be alot better than your old computer, games are more GPU dependant and what causes the problems.

- one reason to get this laptop is the upgradeable vid card. Both the NV5600 and the ATI 9600 are not going to be enough for future games. Thus we will all have to upgrade, which is ok. There are new cards comiong out in Jan some time that will score alot better. One of which is the 256MB mobile verison of the ATI 9700.

- laptops are for those who have to more around alot, not for hose who stay in one place. For the amount you have to pay for them, laptops of this caliber are not worth it for those who don't move around.
