Repair or upgrade to new laptop?

Hey guys, so my Inspiron 9100 just died last week. Lights come up and fans spin up, but the screen is black and there's no HD activity at all. I've had the thing for about 1 yr, 9 months and am out of the warranty period. I'm debating whether to try replacing the motherboard thru eBay or a repair shop, sending it into Dell, or just going ahead and upgrading to a Inspiron 9300. The problem with upgrading is that I don't feel there's really been a technology breakpoint yet for me to benefit much from upgrading, aside from video card benchmarks. What do you guys think?

upgrade it unless the cost to fix it is so much cheaper n not worht all the hassle

Sell it on ebay and buy the 9300.

The 9100 is a brick of a laptop and the 9300 should run circles around it.

I prefer to get a new laptop every 24 months as well.

Considering how rare 9100 parts go for and the odds of fixing one are low since a part replacement may not assure you a total fix. your best just getting a new machine and parting out your current one.
