3D Mark 2001 scores

Thread Starter
I know that 3dMark 2001 is dated and based on DX8 however most of the reviews I read here in the UK from the magazine I subcribe to seem to still be using this benchmarking program. For the purpose of comparison could some people please send some benchmarks from their various AW51M machines using the 3DMark2001 program.

any others?

Mechanic did you have any driver updates/overclocking on the GPU when you got that score or was that using the default drivers?
Used the 7.95 drivers. No overclocking.

Craig i don't know much about benchmarks, is that score the expected score for such a machine. Mine is the same except i have a 3.2 ghz processor instead of 3.0. I guess i'm asking what the standard is for these laptops, and what the score should be for such a machine. thanks

Patch,
You probably won't see much of an increase because of a few hundred MHz in a CPU. Benchmarks like that are almost totally Graphics Board/Mainboard Bus meters. They are also, arguably, in no way reflective of how your machine will work in a gaming environment.

thanks craig for the quick reply, but u havent' answered my question on how a computer of your caliber is expected to perform. I see many people are upset w/scores of less than 3000. thanks

I'm not sure what your question is?

Wait, I think I understand your question. You want to know why you're under 3000 in 3DMark03?

If that is your question, the answer is that those of us up over 3k are using an overclocking software like Powerstrip (Alienadrenaline) to push the limits of our GPU's.

how do you make powerstrip do this, my comp is coming in from depot on friday, i would deff want to overclock it if possible, unless there are possible side effects from doing so-such as overheating and such.
Download it for free from www.download.com. Search for Powerstrip.

It's very easy and self explanitory. Or you can check these forums as there are a ton of threads on this very thing...I've got to get back to the family and presents.

Happy Holidays!

I think i got around 2890 on my sager stock with 3.95 drivers on 3dmark 03.

Downloading 3dmark01 now

Err, nm, I am concluding that my lappy has bad ram, I tried downloading 3dmark but I got a BSOD and it restarted again.
Ok, specs are in my sig, I had to take out one stick of 512 to get it to work, but I benchmarked it and got a 10102 stock!

I have the 3.95 drivers from Sager, and my specs are in my sig.The HDD is a 60GB 5400RPM HDD(its not listed there.

Beat that stock on an AW! Hyperthreading was ON btw.

3DMark2001SE - 10767

3DMark03 - 3039

Prostar 8814 (same as Sager 8890)
3.2 cpu
1024 ram
60 gig HD 7200rpm
ATI 9600 PRO 128mb (original drivers, have not yet updated)
16" UXGA
no overclock...tried it once with Powerstrip and scored 11,670 but then set it back to default
post #18 of 31
Yea my Area 52m with the 3.2 and the new omega drivers got a little over 9800 on the 01. It gets a flat 2600 int he 3d03....seems a little low, but i can get it up to almost 3200 by overclocking. Im going to overclock the 01 and see how much better it does. Just thought i'd add my two cents in. Is the 2600 stock low??
Ok, correction, I actually got a 9206 on the 01, and by overclocking i received a 11139.

Hello,
I made 3D Mark 2003 Bechmark for you, i overclocked a bit (not too much so that there were no artifacts) and closed all not needed programms and Services.
