Issues i had with the speakers: the upper left speaker would come in and out, and when it is on, it's not as loud as the remaining 3 speakers. I did use the drivers from the cd and also an updated driver. It appears to be a broken speaker. The "red ghosting" is a well known issue. The "buzzing" sound coming from the keyboard is also a well known problem...just search "buzzing" in the notebookreview.com.http://forum.notebookreview.com/show...hlight=buzzing
I really do like the design of the z70va but i just couldn't deal with the "known" and supposedly "fixed" issues. I understand about the m560a and its chirping issues but disabling the IR is suppose to fix it. Plus some people claim that they do not have any sound issues at all so it might just be as common as the ghosting issue for the z70va. Rick at stnc said that he has been having more problems with the asus line than the clevo line so hopefully that's a good sign for me. He even changed the z70va to "out of stock" in his website so he could keep his remaining stock and fix/swap broken ones. He offered to swap my parts in to another z70va but i declined. I'd rather have a laptop with perhaps a hissing headphone jack than deal with ghosting, etc... Hope you guys get your asus notebooks resolved.
