Watch computer DVD's on TV?

Does anyone know if there’s a cable or adapter that will allow me to use my 700m’s DVD drive to watch movies on a television?

We’ve got a Wal-Mart-special DVD player in the office that won’t play 3 out of 5 DVD’s…but the same DVD’s play without a problem on my 700m.

you can use the s-video out if the 700 has one. Dell also has an adapter that goes from s-video to composite that might be easier.

S-Video/TV Out: 7-pin mini-DIN connector
The 700m has the S-video out port, so you could use that to connect to the TV. If the tv doesn't have an S-Video in, you'd have to get an adapter, but you can find those pretty easily at wal-mart, best buy, office supply type stores. You might also have to get the headphone jack-RCA connection, as I'm not sure if sound would come over the cable.


BTW, what does the DVD player do when you try those 3/5 dvds? You might also try searching the model number of that dvd player to see if there is a fix.

It simply says "bad disc."

Thanks for the advice. We decided it wasn't worth the hassle so we took up a small collection and bought a $60 Panasonic player from Circuit City.

It plays everything we that we've put in it and 90% of those are copies!
